Homework

Homework will usually be assigned Monday through Thursday.  It will be posted on the blog homepage.  I try very hard not to give homework on the weekend but it is sometimes necessary when extra practice or missed work really needs to be done.

Children are expected to read for about 20 minutes and talk with adults about their reading every single day.  If no reading is assigned, students may read any self-selected book.  Any assigned reading can be used to fulfill  the daily reading requirement.

Our usual homework routine includes spelling practice. You decide how much and how often to practice spelling words. Our lists are available for games and practice at spellingcity.com/mrsdolan/. Just look for the title of this week's story.

Some math practice will be assigned almost every day.

 If students cannot complete their homework even with adult support or they really struggle with it, please write a little note on the homework letting me know they gave their best effort.  I will be sure to check-in with them and make sure they get the help they need.
